Why is the website manager not loading media manager correctly in my browser

Why is the website manager not loading media manager correctly in my browser

What has changed?

Recent browser updates have continued the march to eliminate third-party (tracking) cookies, which has started to cause some issues with websites that utilise these cookies.

How does this affect Aro?

Aro requires the use of third-party cookies to track sessions between the website manager and access to local storage.
You may encounter an issue when editing one of your website pages in the website manager and attempt to load the media manager or possibly when uploading/moving images when editing listings
  1. The issue may present as a loading screen that goes forever

  1. You may get presented with an Aro Login screen

What To Do If A Site Seems Broken?

In Firefox

If using Firefox and a site seems broken, try turning off Enhanced Tracking Protection. It allows trackers to load on that site only. Enhanced Tracking Protection will continue to block trackers on other sites.
  1. Click on the shield to the left of the address bar.
  2. Toggle the switch at the top of the panel.
    • This will turn off Enhanced Tracking Protection for this site. The page will reload automatically and allow trackers on this site only.
  3. The Media Manager should then load correctly and/or images should behave as expected when editing listings.

In Google Chrome

  1. Click on the 'Third-party cookie blocking' icon

  1. Click on the 'Site not working' link
  1. Select "Allow Cookies"
Info
This allows third-party cookies for this browser for this site only.
  1. If you click on the icon now, you can see that third-party cookies are now enabled

  1. And the Media Manager and images should now load properly
Alert
You may need to hard refresh your browser or even log out and back into the software for this setting to take effect
