How do I preview a listing on my website?

How do I preview a listing on my website?

In Arosoftware, you are able to upload your listing to your website only to check what it will look like. Unfortunately we do not have a "Preview on Website" option within the software itself. This guide will show you how to send a listing to your website only. It will then guide you through how to remove it, or to send to all other websites once it's ready to go fully live.

1. Save the listing at PENDING

First you will need to add your listing in the software. Save the listing at PENDING. This is important because at the Available stage website updates are triggered and if taken straight to Available, your listing may send through to websites automatically before you have the chance to turn them off. You instead need to save the listing at Pending and then follow the next step.

2. Switch off automatic uploads

On your Pending listing, click into the Websites tab on the left. On the right you will see a button which says "Disable automatic updates". Once this is clicked, it will change to a red button which means automatic updates are turned off. When auto updates are turned off, any edits you make to your listing, including making it Available, will not send through to any websites unless they are specifically activated.

3. Make the listing Available

Once the automatic updates are switched off, you can now make your listing available. To do this you can either click on Edit Listing and change the status, or click on Available in the stages ribbon in the Listing Details tab:

4. Send the listing through to your website only

To send the listing to your website, click back into the Websites tab and click on Update next to your website only. This will send the listing through to your website (will take a minute or so to upload). You will see the Upload Status column change for this listing to "Queued for Upload" and then to "Uploaded Successfully". The other websites status' will stay as "Not Yet Uploaded".
Once uploaded you can then check the listing on your website to confirm the listing displays as desired, or show to the vendor for their approval. Be aware this listing is now live on your website and can be viewed by anybody until withdrawn.

5. Remove the listing from your website or send the listing to all Active websites.
5a. Remove the listing from your website

To take the listing down from your website, click into the Websites tab on the listing and click on Withdraw next to your site. Leave the Listing at Available (it will be Available in the software but not active on any websites). When you are then ready for the listing to go live on all websites, follow the last step below.

5. Send the listing to all Active websites.

Once you are ready for the listing to be uploaded to all your other Active websites, go back into the Websites tab and click on Enable Automatic Updates. Once updates are now back on and the button has turned green, click on the one below it labelled "Update All Now". This button essentially activates the Update button for all websites in the Active section. These websites status' will now change to Queued for Upload, and then to Uploaded Successfully (dependant on any listing errors from REA etc).

The listing is now at Available, is active on websites and the Automatic Uploads are switched on. Any futures edits you make to the listing, or any inspection times you add, will automatically upload to all Active websites as normal.
