This guide will step you through the process of cancelling a contract that is in the "Under Contract/Conditional" or "Unconditional" stage. There are two places on a listing's page where you can cancel a contract. Option 1 is the quick and easy method, but follow Option 2 if you'd like to update any other contract details at the same time.
- This box will pop up to confirm your choice
- The property will return to the "Available" stage and update the portals (only if automatic updates are enabled. See: Automatically Upload Listings to Websites/Portals for further information)
- The contract will be listed as "Unsuccessful" in the Contracts tab
Alternatively, if you need to update contract details before cancelling:
- On the listing screen, click on the Contracts tab on the left-hand side
- Click on the Edit pen next to the contract you wish to cancel
- You will be taken to the Edit Contract page
- In the "What would you like to do?" field at the top, select Cancel Contract from the dropdown options
- Edit any other fields you wish to update
- Click the green Save Contract button on the right
- Choose whether you want the listing to be made "Available" again and whether the portals should be updated (only if automatic updates are enabled. See Automatically Upload Listings to Websites/Portals for further information)
- The contract's status will now be updated to "Unsuccessful"
