Adding Images and Row Background Images (and what is the difference?!)

This article will guide you through the 2 ways to add Images into your Email Campaign: as an Image or as a Row Background Image. When inserting an image into your design, the main aspect to consider is whether the image is going to be at the front and maybe even be a link to a webpage, or is it going to be more of a background piece with content over the top? An inserted image can be converted to be a clickable link and so you cannot add text over the top of it. Whereas you can add text or a button over the top of Row Background Images. Follow the steps below to add Images into your Content.

Click into the Image tab on the left. Drag and drop the Image button over into your template on the right. You can drag the image into a column you have previously added by dropping it when you see the green line in your column as below:

Or you can add the photo into a new section below by dropping it when you see the green line beneath any content you have already added:

Once your image placeholder is in position, you can select the photo you would like to use by clicking on Change Image on the left. The image will automatically upload to the full size of the space it is trying to fill (ie. the width of the column it has been inserted into). You can reduce the image size by using the slider on the left. You can edit the Alignment too - this will be Left by default, but you can change this to be Centre or Right aligned.

You can make the image a clickable link by adding a URL on the left. Simply copy and paste the website you would like the image to guide people to in the URL box on the left:

How to add a Background Row Image

A Row Background Image can be used as a base to make your content stand out. You can add text or buttons over the top of a Row Background Image, and you can add on opaque overlay to make content pop even more.

To add a Row Background Image to your design, you must first add in a Column. Click into the Columns tab on the left, and drag and drop your preferred number of columns into your design on the right.

In the Row Settings on the Left, scroll down until you see Row Background Image, and click on Change Image. Find your Image in your Media Manager, or Upload a new one by clicking on Upload Files.

Once you have selected the image you would like to use, click on the green Insert Image button.
The Image will show a preview on the right (don't worry we can edit the size later by adding text, buttons and spacers). You can overlay the image with a colour by clicking on the slider on the left and selecting the colour you would like to use. You can change the opacity of the colour by using the slider below the colour picker:

Once you have this base in place, you can drag in text elements over the top:
