Add a Layout to your Email Design

Add a Layout to your Email Design

This article will explain what Layouts are, and how you can implement them into your Email Design.

What is a layout?

A Layout is a pre-designed section of an email, like smaller sections of a full template. Layouts can be used as a quick and easy way to build up a personalised email design, section by section. Layouts can also be linked into different sections of your Arosoftware database, from Team Members to Testimonials or Blog Posts - they enable this information to be pulled through from your database to your email design.

Adding a Layout to your Email Design

Click into the Layouts tab within the Email Designer.
Scroll through the list to find the Layout you would like to use, or use the Search bar to filter down the list (eg. type in "Testimonials" to see these layouts only).
Drag and drop the Layout into place in your Email Design.

You will then be given the option to customise the Layout on the left. For Layouts which are pulling data through from your database, you can select which Testimonials or Team Members etc you would like to include:

Switch Layout

You can easily switch between similar layouts to preview each one with your selected data - click on the Switch Layout button and select a new layout.

Edit a Layout

Depending on the Layout type, some Layouts are able to be used as a base for your design and can be customised. Layouts which pull data directly from your software (Team Member, Testimonials and Blog Post Layouts) cannot be modified. However some Layouts are made up of pre-defined columns and images that you can edit to match in with your email design and format. Once you have drag and dropped the layout into your design, you can then edit the text and images to suit. Hover over the element you would like to Edit, and click on the Edit pen as highlighted below:
